I am in Jeddah right now! And I cannot resist posting the pictures I took of a lingerie shop at the Red Sea Mall. I heard that things were a bit more relaxed out here, but I didn't realize it was *this* relaxed!
While I was looking into the store making surprised remarks about it, hubster disappeared halfway down the hall to disassociate himself from the woman with the camera yelling, "they sell WHIPS in here! Come look! Where are you going?!" He is the first to sell me down the river whenever he hears the words, "look out for security, okay?" Honestly where is the loyalty? Curiously, there was no mall security chasing me down for taking pictures anywhere. Was it just good luck? Or is this Jeddah?

Thats Jeddah!
Welcome!
thanks! I want to stay here!
now i know what my friends in jeddah tell me is true that there's life out there!
enjoy!
thanks ;) ...I have to admit things do feel a bit more open out here. Less niqabs, more open space in family sections, less staring if you're not covered up. People are a bit more relaxed...and of course there's the beach!
There is an arabic saying, that says
Yet whats Hidden is even Grand!
and trust me,in jeddah, whats behind closed doors are really grand lol.
LOL, this was at the red sea mall? damn things do change, lingerie shops were there from a long time ago, but they never borderline on being sex shops...
I'm not exactly sure the handcuffs and the whips are for sale....
Dentographer, if handcuffs and sexy maid outfits are not hidden, I can only imagine what IS!! ha ha
Qusay maybe burning phoenix is right, that they might have just been for decoration?
Too bad we forgot to go back after prayer was finished, because then we would know for sure what was for sale or not!
oh yah for anyone who needs them, you can get some pretty good handcuffs at Toys R Us.
=D
Mental note:
Become police officer, make killing selling handcuffs to western women, claim you arrested people with them when given new ones at work.
ha ha well handcuffs are a necessity for western women. how else would we get our husbands to watch Project Runway with us?
I live in Jeddah and only travel to Riyadh for work every now and then. I tell you, Riyadh is way more suffocating compared to Jeddah.
Glad you enjoyed the 'Bride of the Red Sea' :)
Wow! Ill have to see if I can get a transfer to Jeddah!
